On November 1, I accepted a challenge to write a novel in 30 days. Harnessed with a hard deadline, I persevered in the face of countless obstacles. I wrote with determination, I quieted my inner critic, and now I've reached the hallowed Winner's Circle on nanowrimo.org. again.
As a reward, I get the new web badge to the right, a certificate, and a really, really, messy, convoluted rough draft of a novel. I began with a few plot ideas this year, but I couldn't get into any of them, so I turned to the novel I wrote last year and picked up where I left off, and the word count finally started rising. It was easier to get to 50,000 words this year. I think experience helps. Now, I earned it, and I've wanted one for a year, so I'm going to order one: a NaNoWriMo hoodie.
